The Northeast Georgia Saddle Club was founded in 1966 by a group which enjoyed Sunday afternoon trail rides and people who loved riding horses. As the years passed the saddle club wanted more than just trail rides and dreamed of having a club house & an arena. The members worked hard to make this dream come true, two years later that dream came true when Fred Hicks made the group an interest free loan to buy the land. Over the years the saddle club house and arena have been maintained, taxes paid, and used for many rodeos, horse shows, and for the drill team.
